My name is Jan Pinnington.
I love cooking. I learned it from my mom many years ago and I have also always had a passion for healthy cooking and working with children.
That’s why I built a business doing just that – teaching kids about healthy cooking and nutrition. And why I created Healthy Hands Cooking so other can learn how to start a cooking class business too.
600+ moms have already gone through our cooking instructor training, and you can too.

Anyway...I knew there was a need almost immediately when a young boy that I was teaching could not believe that mashed potatoes came from potatoes – (he thought they could only come from a box)!
How sad that I had the biggest “a-ha moment” in my life when I found out that this little boy did not know that. :(
But if I can be real here, the large majority of our current generation of kids of all ages, is kind of like that. Your kids may be different, but mine like most kids today, have grown up in a world filled with fast foods and processed foods. Which is one of the reasons childhood obesity is at an all-time high.
Sadly, many children miss out as home cooking has disappeared, and think about what else we’ve lost. We’ve also lost the beautiful family benefits of the socialization of cooking, hanging out in the kitchen, developing skills and confidence in our kids, giving them an avenue for healthy personal interaction and the joy it creates.
If this is part of your family life... that is amazing. You’ve seen these benefits firsthand. But think of all the families in your community where that may not be the norm.
Cooking classes have never been more sought after than they are right now and for every 1 student in an after school program, there are 3 more waiting. There is an unlimited demand for children's healthy cooking classes.
What about you? Do you love healthy cooking? Do you love kids? Do you want to start your own cooking instructor business in your community? Did a wave of excitement and wonder just wash over you? Did you just have your own “a-ha moment”, one that might change the direction of your life?
Just imagine doing something you love, that you are good at, that brings you joy, that allows you to develop and help kids find joy in your community… and getting paid for it.

Everything you need to…
... In 6 months, when you’ve held 20 weeks of classes x 3 classes per week x an average of 8 students per class at a $30 fee and you’ve made $14,400 working about 10 hours per week. We can’t, and don’t guarantee revenue of course, but it’s just simple math.
If you teach 3 classes per week, (that's 6 hours of teaching per week), with 8 kids per class, at $30 per student, times 40 weeks a year, that's $28,800!
If you have an after school program with 20 kids, 5 days per week, for $75 per child per week, for the 36 week school year, that's $54,000!
If you you just do 1 class per week with 10 kids at $30 per class and one birthday party ($450) per month, that is $19,800.
Or imagine how in 12 months you can be your community’s answer for healthy cooking with people saying and posting …“Hey did you hear about Samantha? She’s doing cooking classes at the school and birthday parties for kids… how cool is that?!”
Or maybe it’s not about the money for you at all and in 12 months, your biggest joy comes from the fact that you do one event every few weeks and your own kids are with you in class, helping you lead and teach. All you may want is a hobby business and to be a part of something bigger than yourself that changes lives.
If you choose to not invest in yourself and start your own business teaching kids about healthy cooking and nutrition, then your life 12 months from today will probably look the same as it does today.
